There might be some element of truth in these people’s belief. However, other people stand on a different ground. They consider it harmful to become too reliant on such digital device. They firmly point out that phones, in a certain sense, alienate people’s heart-to-heart distance, do harm to their physical health and consume their valuable time and attention.

For example, showing strong interest in idols can meet/satisfy our curiosity, upgrade our spirit status and diversify our life. However, the opponents(反對者) point out that celebrity craze can have unhealthy side-effects(副作用). It’s very likely that modern people sometimes become excessively reliant on(對…過度依賴) behaviors of those to whom they follow closely at the expense of(以…為代價) their wealth and independence.
